ABOUT

NODE JUICE is a precision plant growth enhancer formulated with 6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BAP), a synthetic cytokinin known for stimulating cell division, promoting shoot proliferation, and breaking apical dominance to encourage lateral growth. Widely used in tissue culture and greenhouse agriculture, 6-BAP has long been used commercially to activate dormant buds and delay leaf senescence.

Unlike traditional foliar sprays, NODE JUICE is a targeted strike: delivering high-dose cytokinin directly to the node. Most published studies rely on low concentrations dispersed systemically via misting or media. We’ve flipped the script: one drop, one node, full throttle.

Caution: Too much 6-BAP can cause tissue necrosis. Target axillary buds, not leaves or normal stem tissue. If you're new to plant hormones or unsure how your plant will respond, start with Original Brew, our baseline formulation. If in doubt, start low. NODE JUICE is powerful. Respect the drop.

SCIENCE

The efficacy of 6-BAP in promoting plant growth is thoroughly documented in scientific literature:

Commercial blueberries: Exogenous (topical) application of 20 mg/L 6-BAP has been shown to significantly increase both blueberry fruit quality and quantity. NCBI

Orchid flower spike induction: High concentrations of 6-BAP in a waxy lanolin-based carrier (traditional non-vegan keiki paste) reliably induces orchid flower spike formation on treated buds. ResearchGate

Monstera deliciosa: Research has demonstrated that 6-BAP effectively induces shoot proliferation in Monstera deliciosa, a popular tropical houseplant. For instance, a study highlighted its role in enhancing shoot multiplication rates in this species. MDPI

Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess': Studies have reported that 6-BAP significantly increases the number of shoots formed in in vitro cultures of Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess', indicating its potential in micropropagation techniques. MDPI

What does NODE JUICE actually do?

Node Juice is a shoot stimulant made with 6-BAP (a synthetic cytokinin) that helps trigger dormant node activation, promote branching, and improve overall plant form. Cytokinins promote cell division and growth, overriding the natural hormonal balance that suppresses branching, especially in mature or slow-growing plants.

Which concentration do I need?

EYE OF NEWT (25 mg/L BAP) is for young or more sensitive plants.

ORIGINAL BREW (100 mg/L BAP) works well for most plants without going overboard.

GOBLIN MODE (250 mg/L BAP) is a bit spicier, but still won’t overwhelm most plants, especially mature ones.

WYVERN’S WING (500 mg/L BAP) is the strongest and not recommended for anything but really thick-cuticled, stubborn plants. Great for woody plants and bonsai.

Where do I apply NODE JUICE?

Target axillary buds - the little nub located close to the node. These are full of tissue most receptive to NODE JUICE.

Alternatively, you may apply to fresh cuts on a mother plant you've just taken cuttings from to encourage growth of future propagations!

Which plants respond best?

Aroids, most houseplants, even garden plants and cannabis can be treated with good results.

6-BAP is indiscriminately used as a plant hormone across commercial greenhouses and tissue culture labs, but it may take some personal experimentation to find the right concentration and amount of NODE JUICE to apply to your specific plants. ORIGINAL BREW is a great starting point for most applications.

How long does it take to work?

- Typical response time: 2-4 weeks

- If nothing changes after 6 weeks, consider reapplying, increasing concentration, and increasing light + nutrients

- Dormant nodes need nutrients and light to respond. A starving or light-deprived plant likely won't branch even with NODE JUICE.

How many nodes should I treat at once?

- For most plants: 1-3 nodes per application

- Treating too many nodes at once may overtax the plant's energy reserves

- Younger plants should start small with a single node and be closely monitored

Does it work on cuttings?

Yes, but it stimulates shoots, not roots. For rooting cuttings, you’ll want something like IBA (e.g., Hormex). However, it can be applied to encourage active shoot points on a cutting after rooting is underway.

Alternatively, use it to encourage more branching on your mother plant before taking cuttings!

Can I use it on orchids?

Yes! NODE JUICE uses the same active ingredient (6-BAP) as traditional keiki paste, but with faster uptake, less mess, and an entirely vegan ingredient list.

Is 6-BAP safe?

While 6-BAP is less toxic than traditional rooting hormones (IBA, Hormex), it's still important to avoid exposure.

Application areas on treated plants should be thoroughly rinsed after absorption to avoid trace exposure.

It is a skin irritant, eye irritant, and is toxic if consumed. It may cause reproductive harm.

If on skin: thoroughly rinse the area with water.

If in eyes: thoroughly rinse eyes with water.

If accidentally consumed, drink water.

Consult a doctor or poison center if you feel unwell.
